LIFE’S FOUR ASPECTS

Human life is precious. Hindu mythology asserts that after a long wait one is born as a human being. It adds that, therefore, we should do such deeds in our life which help us to be born as the human beings in our next birth. In order to attain such a domain, it is important we live our lives in a balanced and harmonious way in this world. The identification and a good understanding of the four basic aspects of our life help us in live our life in a balanced and harmonious way. The four basic aspects of our life are: physical, financial, social (emotional), and spiritual.

Physical aspect is the first aspects of our life. Our journey towards a good spiritual aspect and harmony begins with a good and harmonious physical aspect. The physical aspect includes good health, body-mind harmony and a disease-free life. Regular exercise, especially yoga, helps us attain and sustain a good physical state and thus powers our journey towards a good spiritual state.

Financial aspect comes next to the physical aspect. The financial aspect includes not only the creation of a system of earning our livelihood, but also a system through which we save wealth for our family members, friends and of course for those who need our help. Thus, if we are wealthy then we can donate money for the poor, orphans, and physically challenged. We can help in the construction of houses for poor, hospitals and monasteries. Thus, accumulation of wealth is necessary in order to add value to our as well as other’s lives.

Social (emotional) aspect is the next important station in our lives. A good physical state and a good financial state add to a good social status of a person. A healthy and wealthy person will definitely have many friends and a good network of people. Such social contacts help us live our lives in an easy, harmonious and balanced way. And if a person does something which benefits the society at large, his social status also increases and he becomes a role model for the rest of the people in this world; for example, Thomas Edison, the inventor of the electric bulb. Thus, a good social status is a must for a balanced and harmonious life.

Spiritual aspect is the last and the most important aspect of one’s life. A good spiritual state is an outcome of, as discussed previously, a combination of good physical, financial and social aspects. The spiritual aspect includes our conversations with god, the urge to begin an inward journey and establish an eternal bond with the Supreme Being.

Thus, we should work for establishing balance and harmony in the four basic aspects of our lives.
