Three Aims That Keep Me Motivated

There are several aims and objectives that keep me motivated throughout the day; for example, to spend quality time with my kids and to excel in my profession. However, there are three core or major or basic aims in my life. These are not very special or out-of-the-box aims. These are very common aims. However, these aims give me power to do extremely well in all areas of my life such as professional, personal, financial and, of course, spiritual.

These aims are as follows:

  1. To add value in the lives of those who look for substantial thoughts, which help them excel in their lives
  2. To make my parents feel proud of me
  3. To set good example in front of young generation in my family and, of course, in society

For more than ten years now, these aims have navigated my life. As I mentioned in one of my previous bloposts [Mahatma Gandhi, as I Appreciate the Man] about my preparation for the prestigious civil services examination, I thought that I would achieve all these aims in one shot, i.e. I would contribute in social welfare activities or make some major policy that would have positive impact on common man’s life, I would make my parents feel proud of me and I would set extremely good example in front of my younger brother and sister [as in my generation, I am the eldest son of my family].

However, since now I have chosen to become an editor, I arrange, develop and edit the content and books that add immense value to the readers’ lives. Since I have written a couple of books, I believe I have certainly made my parents feel proud of me. And with all these achievements, I think I have set a certain example in front of the younger generation in my family, and at least those who know me personally.

But I strongly believe that all this is not at all enough. In my life, there is enough space that needs to be filled. I need to add more value to the lives of those who are looking for it, I need to make my parents feel more proud of me than what they are today and I need to set more higher examples in front of young members of my family. Therefore, I have started this blog. I strongly believe that through writing, I can make more/extra contribution, which I cannot make in any other way. Therefore, this blog is one of the several ways to achieve the three main aims of my life that keep me motivated.

A pair of comfits

A  pair  of  comfits  (the  doctor  sandals)  is  just  a  pair  of  comfits.  It  walks  its  wearer  out  in  comfort.  Sometimes,  the  reason  for  which  it’s  bought  makes  it  special;  it  becomes  a  pair  of  uncommon  comfits.
Hence,  the  incident  of  Mr.  Kapoor.  He  remembered  how  he  felt  that  the  pain  in  his  knees  had  reduced  since  he  started  using  the  pair  of  comfits.  It  was  a  new  pair  gifted  to  him  by  his  beloved  wife  on  his  last  birthday.
Initially,  he  was  hesitant  to  buy  any  birthday  gift.  He  thought  that  exchanging  birthday  gifts  is  a  practice  among  kids,  teens  and  youth.  He  had  crossed  forty;  he  shouldn’t  be  into  all  this.  In  addition,  he  wished  for  a  non-pompous,  silent  birthday  that  can  be  celebrated  best  with  the  family  and  good  food.  But  his  wife  pursued  him  to  buy  something  for  daily  use  on  his  birthday.  She  reasoned  that  she  would  go  and  buy  som…
