ESSAY WRITING IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE

Yes folks! Essay writing is not rocket science. It is much more difficult than that. Really!

Scientists spend months in calculating as to when to launch a rocket, what should be its weight, what should be its inclination, what should be its speed, what should be its distance, etc. They make several teams of scientists and experts for calculating these essential facts. They seek weather reports for the day of rocket launch, and almost a month before and after it. They collate all these facts, and much more of the information, and then decide about the time and place of the rocket launch. They seek support from the government. They take defense measures, they seek help from various departments such as foreign affairs, environment and forest, home ministry, etc. They prepare the best possible safety measures so that in case of an accident, they are able to save the human lives that could be affected by the accident. They use the most advanced instruments in the scientific calculations, and for the end result, i.e., a successful rocket launch.

However, do we carry out any such measures to write a good essay? Do we read good essays for the whole year? Do we write a page a day as a practice? Do we write full-fledged essays on fortnightly basis and seek our teachers/guides’ help to improve them? Do we make a group of friends that are active and avid essay writers and encourage the group members for improving their essay writing skills? Do we write essays and send them for the entry in the magazines that publish essays from its readers, such as magazines that print content for competitive exams? Do we prepare to control our mood swings on the day of exam? Do we really carry out many such tasks that will certainly help us improve our writing skills throughout the year? Most of us really don’t do all this. And that’s why essay writing becomes much more difficult than the rocket science for us.

Thus, it is in our hands to really take hold of our writing skills right from the beginning of the first session of the academic year. Launching a rocket (writing a good essay) successfully and easily is in our hands.

Inner Voice: Immediate Issues of Life

Everyone has short and long term goals in his/her life. These goals may be to get thin, to earn and save lot of money, to have a beautiful girlfriend or a handsome boyfriend, to own a luxury car, etc. Among all such mundane goals, there seems no requirement of interference of the inner voice of an individual. However, if you are under the spell of your inner voice, just like me, I advise you to arrange your goals. These can be fundamentally organised into short term goals and long term goals.  On the basis of such a self-made arrangement, start focusing on your inner voice. Ask common and specialized questions to your inner voice about each of your desires. As I have got, you will also get some answers; some questions may not be answered at this point of time. It is a must-believe situation. Without trusting the inner voice, there is no other choice in such cases. Hence such an arrangement.  A better way to deal with such a situation is to focus on your immediate, most important
